2008-W Silver Eagle Reverse of 2007
2008-W Silver Eagle Reverse of 2007 was the first variety coin discovered for the series. The variety occurs on 2008-W Burnished Silver Eagle coins, which were available as collector coins directly from the United States Mint.The variety was first discovered in April 2008. A small number of coins were struck using the reverse dies of 2007. The variety is most easily distinguished by the bowl shaped "U" of "United States" on the reverse of the coin. The discovery of the variety caused excitement in the coin collecting community as it is the first variety for the 20 year old series. An estimated 47,000 of the Reverse of 2007 Variety coins were produced.
